Spending the night at Simply Bed and Bread was like visiting dear friends with one exception, they don't cook as well or spoil you the way your hostess Cheryl does. she loves fresh foods, interesting recipes, and baking and, believe me, so will you! All of downtown Chestertown is only a short walk away. Hang out on the front porch and meet the neighbors. The entire experience was the best!!!
What a relaxing weekend retreat! My husband and I arrived Saturday afternoon to gracious smiles and fresh baked cookies! We were celebrating our one-year anniversary and "babymoon." We were overwhelmed by the hospitality - from the day I booked the inn (when I received a phone call asking what our favorite cookie was and what we liked for breakfast), to the excellent dining recommendations and delicious breakfast spread - we will definitely be back!
My husband and I stopped in for the night and it was a great experience. Cheryl and David are some of the nicest people we've met. Clean and charming rooms, hot coffee on the porch, great water pressure in the shower, DELICIOUS homemade breakfast. Stay here if you get the chance.
Many thanks to the gracious hostess and host....the Hoopes....of Simply Bed and Bread for our wonderful weekend at their lovely inn. My 7 year old grandson, Jackson, and I spent this past weekend there as we were attending my daughter's wedding outside of Chestertown. Everything was so perfect.....my grandson loved the flat screen tv, "emily's butler's pantry" and the mints on the pillow. Cheryl is an amazing chef and baker......the breakfasts were 5 star quality and I have never tasted anything quite as divine as her homemade frosted banana donuts!! We also got serenaded by Cheryl singing and playing childlren's songs on her ukelele much to my grandson's delight! What a wonderful place to stay, impeccably spotless, with such charming owners. They made our stay so enjoyable and I would highly recommend this b and b gem to anyone traveling to or through the delightful eastern shore town of Chestertown, Md.
