We spent two nights in the Ringgold room. I can't say enough positive things about our experience! The owners, Jim and Tracy, have been absolutely wonderful. The room is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious. Despite it raining all weekend, the grounds are also gorgeous with a pond next door to the house. The Inn is set back in the woods so it can't get any more relaxing. Absolutely perfect weekend!

The house has been lovingly restored and sympathetically decorated to a charming level by the owners Jim and Tracy. It’s not over the top, but just right, so you feel constantly relaxed and totally comfortable.

Beautiful location for weddings

We felt we were at home, a rather spoiling one, and hope to return before long.

We were captivated by everything and can only suggest you go check it out yourselves.

The weekend cooked breakfasts are another thing great thing to remember. French toast, omelettes, you name it, they’ve got it. Jim and Tracy are the finest of hosts. Not intrusive, but always quietly around with instinctive helpful tips and a cracking humour.

With lots of trees and surrounding nature, all soaked by the stunning bright Maryland light.

This one one of the most beautiful bed and breakfasts my boyfriend, Dave and I have ever been to. The owners Jim and Tracy were very knowledgeable about the area, where to go and how good each place was. They were so friendly and hospitable! The grounds are historical and beyond magical! There is tons of wildlife and beautiful trees and flowers everywhere! The breakfast was tasty and we sat at a table while humming birds flew all around us, simply magical! We will definitely go back in the fall!

Canada geese land on the pond beside the house, while bald eagles soar overhead.

The bedrooms are large and airy, some with four posters, and all with gorgeous mattresses that guarantee that fine night’s sleep you’ve missed for weeks. Candles, books and real fires add that extra cosy feel. Yes, real fires in the bedrooms, can you imagine? We arrived in minus 3 degrees but soon felt warm as we saw the fire crackle in front of us.

The view, the place, and the hosts were all great. A mist go for a weekend break.

There’s a friendly informal atmosphere, it’s easy tell it’s been the owners’ much loved home for many years. And what a creation it is.

A friend and I have been lucky enough to have discovered the Inn at Mitchell House.
